Art

In art we aim to nurture our children's natural and creative self-confidence and equip them with process experience that will help their ideas come to life.

Art at Little Mead Primary Academy is taught using a Trust planned curriculum which is mapped from EYFS - Year 6 and aims to to engage and inspire children, giving them the skills and knowledge to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. The children build on their skills, which progress throughout their time at our school, in order to become confident artists, to understand, appreciate and talk about art.

We introduce our pupils to a broad range of artists, architects and designers, both contemporary and historic. Art is taught progressively and every year the skills and techniques are revisited
