Computing

At Little Mead Primary Academy, we aspire for our pupils to be effective and confident users and developers of technology.

At Little Mead Primary Academy we follow the Kapow scheme of work for computing from EYFS - Year 6.

Our computing curriculum teaches our pupils to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, imaginative and creative. We will equip our pupils with the skills and knowledge to design, write and debug programmes, use search technologies effectively but more importantly to use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly. We will prepare our pupils for the digital world around them and to be confident as the next generation of computer users.

Computing is taught through discrete lessons and we also provide opportunities for children to apply and consolidate their skills across the curriculum.

We place a stone emphasis on online and digital safety. We teach children how to stay safe online and provide regular reminders and updates to both parents and children.
