Lunchtime Supervisor

Hours: 16 hours per week, 10.30am – 1:45pm, Monday-Thursday, 10:30-1:30pm on Friday, term time only

Actual Salary: £7059.11 (NJC6)

Place of work: Initially based at Little Mead Primary Academy. However, all appointments are made to the Trust centrally

Contract: Permanent

The Successful Candidate

Little Mead Primary Academy is looking to appoint an organised and efficient individual to coordinate the Lunchtime Team to ensure that the lunchtime period runs smoothly, enabling pupils to enjoy their lunch breaks and return to class ready for the afternoon's teaching and learning.

In return we work hard to support our Lunchtime Supervisor and offer opportunities for professional training and development, career progression and the chance to play a key part in helping our children to get the most out of their lunchtimes.

The Lunchtime Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Organising and managing the lunchtime team;
  • Monitoring any absences and performance issues within the lunchtime team in line with Trust policy;
  • Leading lunchtime team meetings, which are held every two weeks;
  • Ensuring that there are sufficient levels of supervision for the children should any absences or issues arise;
  • Ensuring that any messages are communicated from the SLT to the lunchtime team;
  • Playing a key part in the recruitment process for new additions to the lunchtime team;
  • Playing a key part in our school's health and safety processes;
  • Fulfilling general Lunchtime Assistant duties and helping children to interact positively with one another during lunchtimes.
  • Ensuring that first aid stock levels are maintained and replenished.
  • Oversee the implementation of the school’s Behaviour Policy and Health & Safety Policy at lunchtimes, ensuring that it is applied consistently and in line with the SLT’s expectations.
  • Co-ordinating with SLT about any behaviour concerns.
