The Successful Candidate

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to work, in the first instance, in key stage 2 at Little Mead Primary Academy.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • High expectations of the children you teach and of yourself, professionally.
  • High levels of knowledge of the primary curriculum and ability to challenge the more able and support the less able in upper key stage 2.
  • Excellent standards of spoken and written English.
  • A commitment to ’go the extra mile’ for our pupils.
  • A willingness to be part of a committed team and to play a full part in school life.

A positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude is essential.

We are looking to recruit a committed and resilient individual to work with our Safeguarding Lead to support children and families. The role will include classroom-based intervention work, working with outside agencies and occasional PPA work.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • High standards of written and spoken English as well as good skills in mathematics
  • The ability to contribute effectively to the workload and responsibilities of a team
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers
  • The ability to maintain confidential and sensitive data for reporting and evaluation purposes

The Successful Candidate

 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated lunchtime assistant who can:

  • build positive relationships with our children
  • support the children to enjoy their lunch breaks and return to class ready for the afternoon's teaching and learning
  • help the children to have a safe and healthy lunchtime experience.

In return we work hard to support our lunch time staff and offer opportunities for professional training, career progression and the chance to play a key part in helping our children to get the most out of their lunchtimes.
 
Our lunchtime staff are responsible for:

  • supervising pupils over the lunchtime period
  • leading and taking part in games and activities with the pupils
  • encouraging children to eat their meals
  • dealing with behavioural incidents in line with the school's Behaviour Policy and discussing concerns with class teachers or members of the Senior Leadership Team
  • playing a key part in the school's health and safety processes
  • helping children to interact positively with one another during lunchtimes.
